The SB/RL page has a little bit of a different format, in that I do use blurbs to describe what I like about the fics. Mostly because there a so many in such a small category that I needed a way to differentiate them within my own mind. And also just FYI:
- All these fics are set in MWPP era. Some of the fics may have more than one setting. But my one criteria was that some of the fic had to take place in MWPP or it wouldn't be placed here.
- I graded the fics. From 1 to 3 stars, 3's being my favorites. And just for clarification, 1's do not mean that I think the fic is bad. I left MANY fics off of this list. I would say, if anything: 1 means good, 2 means better and 3 means best. IMO, of course.
- I always tried to give each of the fics a category and a time setting. So if a fic is labeled 'the prank, At Hogwarts' obviously that means that the fic is about the prank and it takes place while MWPP are still at Hogwarts.
Categories include: discovery (Sirius and Remus realize that there are feelings between them), first time (first occasion of sex or sexual contact between the two), established (the two are already in a established relationship), the prank (the prank on Snape or the aftermath thereof). Fics will either take place At Hogwarts or Post Hogwarts but before 1981. If there are sections of the fics that take place during PoA, GoF or OotP, they are labeled as such.

Sirius and Remus get locked in a boiler room. The build-up in this fic is amazing. The slow realizations that what they're feeling is sexual tension. And finally the inevitable eruption. Fantastic.

A heat wave hits Hogwarts - and SB/RL. Throw in some ice cubes, and you have a scorching PWP.

Down from the Tree: Consequences ** the prank (At Hogwarts flashbacks), PoA
Well first off, this is the 2nd part of a 3 part series.It's after Down from the Tree: Actions by Firelocks and before Down from the Tree: Absolution by Arabella.(broken links) It can be read as a stand-alone but the other two are at least worth a look. I just like this one best.
Anyway. "Consequences" is about Sirius after the Shrieking Shack incident in POA, looking back on the prank he pulled on Snape. I like how Arabella deals with everyone's reactions: Dumbledore, Peter, Lily. She shows how it affected everyone; not just Sirius, Remus, and Snape. And Remus finding out how Sirius betrayed him will rip your heart out.

A fluffy little fic. A summer day where Sirius and Remus discuss cloud formations and of course, kisses. Cute, cuddly and comedic.

Sirius plays a game. Dark; gorgeously written. The language the author uses is so sumptuous. And I liked her image of Sirius and who he might have been. It seemed very truthful. And the ending is so fitting - very well-done all around.
In the Winter of You're Gone *** established Post Hogwarts, 1981
It's the perfect back story of Remus in that period of his life, right after his world falls apart. Lyrical as always, with just the right amount of melancholy. Something that I think is very true to character at any rate.

Sirius thinks he's been poisoned. Great dialogue and characterizations. Just a sweet, small story.
There And Back Again ** discovery, established At Hogwarts
I would call this the missing middle section from Up On the Roof. Everything I loved about the first, only more. Beware the formatting of the story however, and make sure that you read down to the bottom of the page. Because it does say 'the end' somewhere in the middle of the story.

I love a proactive Sirius and a reticient Remus. I also give the fic much applause for dynamic use of a silencing charm and superior UST finally being resolved.

Sirius tries to help James win a date with Lily, mayhem ensues. Lily is fantastically portrayed in this fic; funny, slightly bitchy. She's great. But of course the best part of the fic is the Sirius/Remus loving. It's horribly romantic.

Our Private Universe (part 1), Our Private Universe (part 2) *** discovery, first time Post Hogwarts
Sirius is sent to watch Remus over the winter hols. The fic is so complex and daring in tone. It's not dark or angsty or hopeful, it's beyond these things, and that's what sets it apart. Because it feels like truth. And the story blends so well with the characters and with canon. Which makes it even better.

This is just a beautiful fic about the Marauder's being the Marauder's and Sirius really coming to terms with what he feels for Remus. (P.S. I love how James reacts to them in this one.)
Waiting for Ganymede ** first time At Hogwarts
I love how Sirius tries to create a romantic first time for Remus. And Canis mixes humor and romance so well in this one. Trust me. Just read it.
Care and Feeding ** established Post Hogwarts
In this one Sirius asks Remus to live with him. Once again, laughs and sweetness and the hot boy sex. I can't say enough good things about it.

Book Lovers ** first time At Hogwarts
Casira writes great PWPs. This one explores the sensual side of Remus's love of books. Very hot stuff.
Conjunctions ** established At Hogwarts
I have a fondness for boys with tattoos, don't judge me. Add in the study session sex and you have a great fic. Plus I just love the whole symbolic meaning of conjunction. You'll understand when you read it. So sweet.
in abstraction ** established At Hogwarts
Once again, sometimes no plot is a good thing. There's nothing wrong with a fast, hot and dirty sex fic. If that interests you at all, you want to read, "in abstraction".
Portrait in Charcoal ** discovery, first time At Hogwarts
Sirius is a talented artist, with a gift for portraits. An interesting bit of character development that leads into hot sex. Smooth writing and some great pieces of imagery. Wonderful bit of PWP.
Smoke *** discovery, first time At Hogwarts
This fic just hits my bullet-proof kinks right from the opening paragraph. Cigarettes, 'cause smoking is cool and you know it. Then there's Remus, so aloof and unreadable but desperate for a bit of closeness. And Sirius, confused but desirous. And the lyrcism of this writing is really above par. I love all those things so much.
Definitions *** established At Hogwarts
"Definitions" is the sequel to "Smoke".
It's beautifully languid for a PWP. The language and the action are never rushed. It builds up slowly, lulling the reader with how sexy and quiet it all is. That's why the impact of the ending is so tremendous. Because it was so unexpected, jarring and wonderful.
The third fic in this story arc would be Clarity followed by the fourth fic Observations.
Completion *** first time, established At Hogwarts
The fifth installment of the above story arc. The same things that I enjoyed about the earlier ones - the language and the characterizations; added to a hot and sweet first time plot. All this equals love.
Taking Control ** discovery, first time, established At Hogwarts
A very sexy fic about the control issues between SB/RL. Tense and frantic, with more great imagery from Casira.
Unbirthday Presents ** established At Hogwarts
Remus has a bad birthday and Sirius tries to make it up to him. Sweet and romantically sexy.

There's nothing like a first kiss. It was a fantastic ficlet idea to focus on the texture and the emotion of SB/RL's first kiss. Sirius is perfectly sweet and unsure throughout this piece. I liked it muchly!
First Kiss (Remus Remix) ** discovery At Hogwarts
And because I liked the first one as much as I did, that makes a sequel even more enjoyable. The first kiss again - this time from Remus's perspective. Still a wonderful, descriptive look at a lovely moment.
Surrender ** first time At Hogwarts
A lovely bit of writing, on what makes the relationship worth it. Short and sweet.
Cimorene and Wax Jism (cimorene111 and wax_jism )
Thing *** discovery, first time, established At Hogwarts, GoF
I think everyone recs this fic. But that's because it's arguably the best SB/RL fic out there. Switching back and forth between a lie-low at Lupin's scenario to the MWPP era, showing how Sirius and Remus's relationship evolved. It isn't a pretty, fluff piece. It's hard hitting and soul wrenching. And it has quite possibly my favorite first kiss of all time, in any fic, in any fandom. Beautifully done. Bonus points for use of the Gryffindor scarves. (It's a good bit of imagery, what can I say?)

Things I like about this fic? Sir Nicholas imparting advice about love! So funny. Aside from that you have Sirius questioning his feelings and an aggressive Remus. Which I like a lot. And also quality use of the song "Greensleeves" in a fic. (I love that tune, lol.)
To Serve a Purpose - ALTERNATE VERSION * discovery, first time, the prank At Hogwarts
This is a strange one and I feel a little wrong recommending it. Because it is very disturbing and it does deal with themes of non-consensual sex. That being said, there is a cleaner version. I chose to recommend this one; the alternate version because I liked it better. It won't be everyone's cup of tea but in my opinion, it takes place after the prank. Perhaps a little darkness isn't unfounded. For the innocent, the cleaner version is here:

Typically I'm not a big fan of the glitter fics. But this is my exception. Sirius creates a rock band and uses his music to express his feelings. (P.S. "The Wizard's Wand Song" is really catchy... Whenever I read this fic it gets stuck in my head.)

Now, what you have to understand about me is that if it comes down to a choice between angst and fluff, I'm going to choose angst every time. That's what I love about this fic. It's unapologetically angsty, with Sirius in love with a girl but seeing Remus on the side. This fic made me cry, that's when I knew I loved it. Great plot, great writing.
Feelings Other Than Prefectly 1, Feelings Other Than Prefectly 2 ** discovery At Hogwarts
I adore jealousy fic and fic that features all of MWPP at their glory. So a combination of the two is much appreciated. Sirius being jealous of Remus's boyfriend, making him chose between them; varied boy hijinks. All good stuff, and well-written. Much appreciated.
Untitled *** discovery At Hogwarts
Sirius is such a boy in this fic. It reminds me of elementary school, where you just torment the person that you have a crush on so that they'll have to pay attention to you. Comedic and sweetly perfect ficlet. I guess you could argue with me and call this fic 'pre-slash' or even a 'friendship fic'. But I think the ending speaks volumes.

Some fic writers have a real problem capturing the humorous side of the Marauders. They can't seem to capture that sense of mischief and glee. Elizabeth is not that type of fic writer. The language and the mood of this fic is classic Sirius and Remus. And classic insecure, snarky teenage boy. A terrific little ficlet.

Interluda 3 - Amissus *** discovery At Hogwarts
More pre-slash than anything. However there are very obvious S/R moments that I think will continue as the author follows this series through to its conclusion. But what I like about this fic and the ones that come after it is the quiet feeling of heartbreak. The melancholy in these fics is almost overwhelming. Keeps me enthralled.
Interluda 4 - Censura *** discovery At Hogwarts
Peter's POV on the events that occur in "Amissus". Fantastic Peter characterization, and a perfect continuation of the series.
Interluda 5 - Maneo *** discovery At Hogwarts
Follows along the same plot line as its predecessors. The mood of this fic is so intense and sad. Beautiful SB/RL moments. Love it.
Liars Leaving My House *** established At Hogwarts
Raunchy, sexy and delicious. Little glimpses into the lives of MWPP, and into the Sirius/Remus relationship. Jumps moment to moment from funny and delightful to hot and dirty. And with the Shrieking Shack as the background pulling it all together. Fantastic.
Oh, Night, and Divine (The Selfish Wish Remix) *** established Post Hogwarts
This fic was done for the Remix Challenge. It is an addition to Thistlerose's Christmas, 1977.
It's Imochan's look at the future. What happens to SB/RL as years and Christmases pass. Another one from Imochan with gorgeous language, and that hint of sorrow that's hard to escape with this pairing. And it's so well-done here that you can only welcome the angst with open arms.

The one thing I can say about these ficlets (written forscarvesnhats) is that I truly wish that there were more. I loved where it was going and I wish it had gotten there.

Usually I don't rec many AUs here, because it's supposed to be an MWPP page. And to me that means, within JKR's universe. But I love this fic, Sirius and Remus as newsboys in 30s Ireland. Even given the random setting, it's still believably these characters. It's perfect.

This one just has style. The word that I use to describe this piece is - lovely. Imochan's sentences are so poetical, describing the transition in MWPP from James, Sirius to Sirius/Remus. The touches between them... yes, the word is definitely lovely.

Any fic that takes the annoying fanon version of Sirius/Remus and turns it upside-down is tops in my book. That's what happens in "Terms of Endearment". But there's more: the fic is also clever and well-written. Entertaining from the first line to the last one. Lovely, great fic.

Confused and gay Sirius, always a fun plot line to explore. The Remus characterization might seem a little crueler than the average, but I think it works.
Play It Again ** discovery, first time, established At Hogwarts
The description of the fic as 'ring-fic' disturbed me at first - because of all the flavorings of fic, sap is the one that I hate the most. But I read the fic and was very pleasantly surprised to find it hot and sweet and just a tad bit kinky.
Remus Lupin's Unofficial List of Things ** discovery, first time At Hogwarts
I always love new and unique characterizations, especially in a fandom that I've read a lot of fic in. The Sirius in this fic is awkward and longing. The Remus is strong and tense. Which of course does wonderful things for their dynamic. All in all, interesting. Which is just what the fandom needed.
The Dating Disasters of Sirius Black ** discovery, first time At Hogwarts
An interesting look at Sirius exploring his sexuality before settling on Remus. And Remus coming to terms with that. I liked the beginning better than I liked the end but overall, it's a pretty good fic. And the author has actually finished the fic, although she doesn't seem to have archived the last chapter at this site yet. It can be found at her livejournal however.
The Line is Fine ** discovery, first time At Hogwarts
Unique and interesting plot. Remus can't figure out why he hates Sirius and everything that he does so much. Which of course leads the author to prove the theory that there's a thin line between love and hate.
The Middle Man ** discovery, first time At Hogwarts
I wouldn't say that this is the most well-written fic that I've ever read. And as far as porn goes, I've read fics that are more explicit and kinkier. With that being said, this fic blew my mind with its hotness. Remus and Sirius and a 'middle man'. I adore the plot of this fic.

I feel like my love for this fic is based on my kink for Sirius in glasses. But there is plenty of other good things to be found in this fic; the Sirius characterization on a whole - great. And it's sweet, with a little SB/RL comfort.

This is one of the most original SB/RL fics I've read in a long time. The concept is fantastic. Librae really attacks the dynamic between Sirius and his parents and manages through Remus's POV to say something beautifully intelligent about it. Wonderful fic.

Sirius runs away from home, Remus joins him on the Knight Bus. There's just something very Sirius-y about this fic that I love. And as a realization fic, it's fantastic.
Faintly Amazon *** discovery At Hogwarts
A sweet little realization piece. Stunning word usage, flawlessly imagined and described. Great characterizations.
The Drought Story *** discovery At Hogwarts
How Remus and Sirius spend their summer sending letters to each other. Gorgeous, poetic style. Softly hopeful but melancholy at the same time.
Undone *** first time At Hogwarts
Remus gets caught looking, but Sirius doesn't think it's so bad. The beginning of this piece has some of the funniest dialogue ever in fanfic. Boys being silly and raunchy together, all leading to the hot sex. A great read.

One of the best looks at the prank in the SB/RL fandom. Many times you see the prank being caused by Sirius's carelessness or just a quick burst of anger at Snape. But "Consequence" gives Sirius a deep-rooted motivation; one where you almost can't blame him for wanting to kill Snape, for forgetting his promise to Remus. And while Remus is still the victim, you will feel sympathy for Sirius. I adore the fic.
Eureka ** established At Hogwarts
A funny one about the Prefect's bathroom and a mysterious faucet. Lise has a lot of quality Sirius/Remus fics and while this one is not my favorite, it is very cute and definitely worth the couple minutes it takes to read it.
Exhibition ** established At Hogwarts
Comedy. Sirius and Remus play at voyeurism. I love the idea that the two are on-again/off-again, it's just a cute piece of character development. This fic is completely pervy and wrong. (But in a good way!)
Last Laugh *** discovery At Hogwarts
Sirius and James each try to best each other at pranking. I love the escalation of the pranks and the comedy as the two become desperate to out-do each other. A very funny fic. Especially once Sirius recruits Remus to... umm... assist him in his quest. Overall, "Last Laugh" is a well-written romp. (P.S. I love who gets the last laugh.)
Flying Without A Broomstick *** discovery At Hogwarts
This fic can be seen as a follow-up to Lise's "Last Laugh". James and Sirius are fighting. Remus tries to solve their problems. I thought it was a clever look at the dynamics of James and Sirius's friendship. It's also a great Remus fic. He's resigned to his fate as second best in Sirius's eyes. But Remus still wants to help Sirius fix things with James. (Despite what this summary seems to be saying, this is not an angsty piece. There's plenty of laughs and a cute bit of romance.) Enjoy.

In the same universe as "Last Laugh" and "Flying Without A Broomstick". Remus and Sirius are now dating, spending some of their summer vacation together. Remus writes James to ask for some advice. I just love Remus fics where he's a little unsure what Sirius wants from him, but he's willing to take whatever Sirius has to offer. And yet, that doesn't make him weak. He's still as dry and witty as he should be. It just rings true to me. And my favorite line of the fic:
"He and Sirius were flipping through some old magazines by candlelight, having exhausted game playing and fooling around some hours beforehand."
It makes me laugh every time. They exhausted fooling around. *snickers* How is that possible?
Weather Pattern ** established At Hogwarts
Remus in this fic is just so hysterical. It's a quick PWP. If I had to describe what's going on I would say that Remus is trying to come up with reasons to explain why he's sitting in the rain watching a Quidditch game. (P.S. Sirius is one of them.)

Redeeming Time *** discovery, the prank At Hogwarts
This one deals with the after effects of the prank on the Marauders. What's interesting about this one is that it's told from James's POV. It's tense and sober at parts, funny and hopeful in others. While it is only vaguely Sirius/Remus, it's still a great fic and contains one of my favorite lines ever. (But if you want to know what it is, you have to ask 'cause it's weird out of context. *grins*)

Sirius loves the patterns of constellations and Remus wonders what that means. I think my favorite line from the whole piece was this:

The SB/RL page has a little bit of a different format, in that I do use blurbs to describe what I like about the fics. Mostly because there a so many in such a small category that I needed a way to differentiate them within my own mind. And also just FYI:
- All these fics are set in MWPP era. Some of the fics may have more than one setting. But my one criteria was that some of the fic had to take place in MWPP or it wouldn't be placed here.
- I graded the fics. From 1 to 3 stars, 3's being my favorites. And just for clarification, 1's do not mean that I think the fic is bad. I left MANY fics off of this list. I would say, if anything: 1 means good, 2 means better and 3 means best. IMO, of course.
- I always tried to give each of the fics a category and a time setting. So if a fic is labeled 'the prank, At Hogwarts' obviously that means that the fic is about the prank and it takes place while MWPP are still at Hogwarts.
Categories include: discovery (Sirius and Remus realize that there are feelings between them), first time (first occasion of sex or sexual contact between the two), established (the two are already in a established relationship), the prank (the prank on Snape or the aftermath thereof). I love all those things so much.

"Definitions" is the sequel to "Smoke".
It's beautifully languid for a PWP. The language and the action are never rushed. It builds up slowly, lulling the reader with how sexy and quiet it all is. That's why the impact of the ending is so tremendous. Because it was so unexpected, jarring and wonderful.
The third fic in this story arc would be Clarity followed by the fourth fic Observations.

Any fic that takes the annoying fanon version of Sirius/Remus and turns it upside-down is tops in my book. That's what happens in "Terms of Endearment". But there's more: the fic is also clever and well-written. Entertaining from the first line to the last one. Lovely, great fic.

The description of the fic as 'ring-fic' disturbed me at first - because of all the flavorings of fic, sap is the one that I hate the most. But I read the fic and was very pleasantly surprised to find it hot and sweet and just a tad bit kinky.
Remus Lupin's Unofficial List of Things ** discovery, first time At Hogwarts
I always love new and unique characterizations, especially in a fandom that I've read a lot of fic in. The Sirius in this fic is awkward and longing. The Remus is strong and tense. Which of course does wonderful things for their dynamic. All in all, interesting. Which is just what the fandom needed.
The Dating Disasters of Sirius Black ** discovery, first time At Hogwarts
An interesting look at Sirius exploring his sexuality before settling on Remus. And Remus coming to terms with that. I liked the beginning better than I liked the end but overall, it's a pretty good fic. And the author has actually finished the fic, although she doesn't seem to have archived the last chapter at this site yet. It can be found at her livejournal however.
The Line is Fine ** discovery, first time At Hogwarts
Unique and interesting plot. Remus can't figure out why he hates Sirius and everything that he does so much. Which of course leads the author to prove the theory that there's a thin line between love and hate.
The Middle Man ** discovery, first time At Hogwarts
I wouldn't say that this is the most well-written fic that I've ever read. And as far as porn goes, I've read fics that are more explicit and kinkier. With that being said, this fic blew my mind with its hotness. Remus and Sirius and a 'middle man'. I adore the plot of this fic.

Remus gets caught looking, but Sirius doesn't think it's so bad. The beginning of this piece has some of the funniest dialogue ever in fanfic. Boys being silly and raunchy together, all leading to the hot sex. A great read.

One of the best looks at the prank in the SB/RL fandom. Many times you see the prank being caused by Sirius's carelessness or just a quick burst of anger at Snape. But "Consequence" gives Sirius a deep-rooted motivation; one where you almost can't blame him for wanting to kill Snape, for forgetting his promise to Remus. And while Remus is still the victim, you will feel sympathy for Sirius. I adore the fic.
Eureka ** established At Hogwarts
A funny one about the Prefect's bathroom and a mysterious faucet. Lise has a lot of quality Sirius/Remus fics and while this one is not my favorite, it is very cute and definitely worth the couple minutes it takes to read it.
Exhibition ** established At Hogwarts
Comedy. Sirius and Remus play at voyeurism. I love the idea that the two are on-again/off-again, it's just a cute piece of character development. This fic is completely pervy and wrong. (But in a good way!)
Last Laugh *** discovery At Hogwarts
Sirius and James each try to best each other at pranking. I love the escalation of the pranks and the comedy as the two become desperate to out-do each other. A very funny fic. Especially once Sirius recruits Remus to... umm... assist him in his quest. Overall, "Last Laugh" is a well-written romp. (P.S. I love who gets the last laugh.)
Flying Without A Broomstick *** discovery At Hogwarts
This fic can be seen as a follow-up to Lise's "Last Laugh". James and Sirius are fighting. Remus tries to solve their problems. I thought it was a clever look at the dynamics of James and Sirius's friendship. It's also a great Remus fic. He's resigned to his fate as second best in Sirius's eyes. But Remus still wants to help Sirius fix things with James. (Despite what this summary seems to be saying, this is not an angsty piece. There's plenty of laughs and a cute bit of romance.) Enjoy.
Summer Holiday *** established At Hogwarts
In the same universe as "Last Laugh" and "Flying Without A Broomstick". Remus and Sirius are now dating, spending some of their summer vacation together. Remus writes James to ask for some advice. I just love Remus fics where he's a little unsure what Sirius wants from him, but he's willing to take whatever Sirius has to offer. And yet, that doesn't make him weak. He's still as dry and witty as he should be. It just rings true to me. And my favorite line of the fic:
"He and Sirius were flipping through some old magazines by candlelight, having exhausted game playing and fooling around some hours beforehand."
It makes me laugh every time. They exhausted fooling around. *snickers* How is that possible?
Weather Pattern ** established At Hogwarts
Remus in this fic is just so hysterical. It's a quick PWP. If I had to describe what's going on I would say that Remus is trying to come up with reasons to explain why he's sitting in the rain watching a Quidditch game. (P.S. Sirius is one of them.)

Redeeming Time *** discovery, the prank At Hogwarts
This one deals with the after effects of the prank on the Marauders. What's interesting about this one is that it's told from James's POV. It's tense and sober at parts, funny and hopeful in others. While it is only vaguely Sirius/Remus, it's still a great fic and contains one of my favorite lines ever. (But if you want to know what it is, you have to ask 'cause it's weird out of context. *grins*)

Sirius loves the patterns of constellations and Remus wonders what that means. I think my favorite line from the whole piece was this:

Which I think quite nicely sums up a major theme of the fic. Really well-written, an attention-keeper all the way through.

Not many authors have Remus being anything other than naive and hopeless in the romance department. Victoria's Remus in this fic is hardened and bitter. Which I liked. Also the use of a shirt as a symbol of the status of the R/S relationship. Very smart fic. And the ending... very fitting.

Hot PWP. Jealousy and sex in a public restroom. It doesn't get much better than that.
